Jiri Cermak in 1956 and 1957, adopted by the Czechoslovakian army in 1958. Approximately one million Sa vz. 58 rifles were produced during its 20 year production run.

Overall, the Sa Vz. 58 is a must-have addition for any collector of Cold War-era firearm design, as well for collectors just looking for a unique variant that uses Warsaw Pact 7.62×39 mm semi-automatic rifle, The Czech Small Arms Vz. 58 Sporter is a high-quality example of one of the more obscure military rifles of that era.
I guess there are 2 importers of the vz58s. CSA makes 'em, Czechpoint imports 'em, and retailers like Dissident and Atlantic sell 'em. Czechpoint also happens to operate as a retailer and sells directly to consumers, too. Your gun from Dissident will have CSA manufacturer marks and Czechpoint import marks. You might be correct.
