Totally agree, although I feel I am in the minority. I personally have the opinion that Origins has some of the weakest storytelling of all main-series AC games. It just doesn't really go anywhere and the formation of the Hidden Ones felt arbitrarily tacked on: neither Bayek nor Aya ever seem to get beyond revenge in terms of their motivation.

As the plot goes on, it becomes clear that his dislike of grand scale politics is justified because of the hidden agendas of many of the people involved with it. HOWEVER, as this reveal happens, Aya, the character who has supported getting involved with backing a side, suddenly becomes the protagonist.
